Aldemar Resorts participates in the Futouris Sustainable Tourism Program

We are proud to participate for the second year in the Sustainable Tourism Program Futouris in collaboration with the TUI Care Foundation “Crete towards a sustainable food destination” which aims to network producers and hoteliers for the development of a new tourism product based on sustainability.

Cooperation between producers and hoteliers. This is about a pilot project of the German organization Futouris, in collaboration with TUI Care Foundation.
Goal: Networking of producers and hotels.

In the ten years of operation, Futouris has developed over 100 programs around the world. Their goal is a sustainable development of tourism. The most important partner of Futouris is the TUI Care Foundation, which has been supporting the project in Crete for two years.

This form of tourism bears multiple benefits for the local economy. The standpoint of the local population changes regarding sustainable cultivation, via the cooperation of producers and the tourism industry; the collaboration of the two most important players in Crete can lead to further economic growth; the emergence of organic products encourages producers toward sustainable cultivation. Therefore with the availability of local products at hotels as well as the visits of foreign visitors to the producers, oil, wine and other goods produced by Crete will be further promoted.
